Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. At Hollow Hill we follow a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level or your favorite color for no apparent reason.)
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights. (Like our webmasters, we’re privacy fanatics.)
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of our site.
  • As an indie publishing co-op, the team at New Forest Books (“New Forest Books”) manages this website and many author-owned websites including  Aisling.net, AliceNPalmer.com, BlissGuides.com, CruiseInSpace.com, DaceAllen.com, DollarDigitalArt.com, Eibhlin.com, FionaBroome.com, Ghosts.Ltd, GoTo.Mom, Hallowfields.com, JakeCamden.com, JoanTudor.com, MollyModern.com, MandelaEffect.com, NewForestBooks.com, Rose-Meadows.com, SantaFlamingo.com, SarahSkyeAuthor.com, and Top10Travels.com, and other sites representing authors (and their very cool projects) we assist. Our authors are free to manage their own sites at any time, with nothing more than email notification to us. (After all, we are a co-op of indie authors. We respect our authors’ whims and cherish their quirks.)

It is Fiona Broome’s, Hollow Hill’s, and New Forest Books’ policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators and managers, New Forest Books collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request.

New Forest Books’ purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how New Forest Books’ authors’ sites’ visitors use its website.

From time to time, New Forest Books may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

New Forest Books also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs.

New Forest Books only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to New Forest Books’ websites choose to interact with New Forest Books in ways that require New Forest Books to gather personally-identifying information.

The amount and type of information that New Forest Books gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address. In each case, New Forest Books collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with New Forest Books.

New Forest Books does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

New Forest Books may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites.

For instance, New Forest Books may monitor the most popular pages on the Rose-Meadows.com coloring books site to correlate with activity at other authors’ pop culture sites.

New Forest Books may use spam screened by the Akismet service to help identify spam, and flag repeatedly used (but silly and fake) usernames (like “John of Ark”), and so on.

New Forest Books may display this information publicly or provide it to others. Especially when it’s hilarious. (We’re massively impressed by the patience of James Veitch.)

However, New Forest Books does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
