My bad...it received mention but the name is not the name of the poltergeist...it is the name of the type of haunting....characterized by rock throwing...taken from either a Roman or Greek era ceremony where they stoned 15 virginal young women to death to ensure good weather...it must of worked, they continued doing it.... but how would you find such women these days...ha ha!

I was surprised that the poltergeist of what used to be called Great Island, now New Castle, I believe, was not among these stories. This Walton farm , in the 17th Century was bombarded by rocks for weeks. Also given the massacres of Colonials back then back Abenaki it would seem New Hampshire would have a lot of potentially haunted sites.

I cannot help but comment that in mid-summer there is nowhere I would rather be than New England along the Coast from Cape Cod north (except maybe the Adirondacks). However in early October it is so gorgeous there...not sure why it is so superior to places like the Shenandoah Valley or the Smoky Mountains in autumn but take my word...the colors are so much more vibrant.

Sophia,

I'm not sure what you're looking for. If you're looking for figures draped in sheets... sorry, that's Casper the Friendly Ghost.

If you want a photo that looks like an apparition, they're generally double exposures or PhotoShop products. Only a couple of apparition-type photos are still unexplained.

Online, almost anything can be produced with PhotoShop. As I've said in several articles, "ghost photos" are only as good as the integrity and expertise of the photographer.

We can't prove anything about photos that seem to represent ghosts. All we can document is what isn't anything paranormal; what remains -- the unexplained -- may (or may not) represent a ghost.

So, if you don't believe the photos at this website, that's fine. You don't have to believe me or anyone else.

The photos at this website (and in my books) are the best that I can offer.

Sincerely,
Fiona
