Visited Blood Cemetery earlier today (have lived closeby all my life, and finally bit the bullet). As an "in-tune" kind of gal when it comes to hauntings, I can honestly say I didn't feel unwanted in the cemetery; quite the opposite, actually. My friends and i read all of the gravestones and had a great time. Whether it was because we intended the graveyard no harm, or because we went in the daylight, I cannot be certain. However, I was strangely drawn to the Farley sisters' grave, like there may be something suspicious regarding their deaths. Just thought I would throw my two cents in!

I can attest to the intriguing energy at the Milford, Nh cemetery. EMF spikes at two areas in particular coupled with some compelling orbs captured in photographs. Also as a practicing psychic medium as well as paranormal investigator, I find this cemetery to be of great interest. It meets much of the criteria you outline in your phenomenal book "Ghost Hunting In Haunted Cemeteries."

I know I'm going to start a bit of a fracas here....but I have always wondered about haunted cemeteries. When we die our spirit leaves our bodies. Why would our spirit follow our bodies to a cemetary. There are other places to go. My Mother does not have a tombstone and I have never been to where she is buried. She's probably quietly watching over me as she did when she was alive.. There is a vacant lot near here that held a very old, large wooden church that burned down several years ago. I expect that will be quite active. I live in the older section (downtown ) of Laredo and we are haunted. Ghost walks coming up!

An update for those interested, the Groton cemetery has shown some activity. The tomb to the left of the entrance has shown EMF readings on 2 visits, as well as the fallen headstone in the middle. This is a small cemetery, but quite interesting. Fiona, I have found a very active cemetery in my native Milford, NH, where some very interesting people with fascinating and turbulent history are resting. There is an environmental project in progress just outside the walls, where Native American remains were discovered in unmarked graves years ago. This location has provided EMF readings on every visit, generally around the graves of children and the same adult graves time after time. We got some amazing orb photos as well, could you let me know how to share them with you? Cheers, David

P.S. Fionas' book, "Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries" is a fascinating read for anyone interested in the subject of paranormal investigation. We went back to locations we thought we had exhausted after studying the methods described in this book, and found more evidence as a result. A great guide, full of valuable tips and experience. Good luck!

I visited Blood Cemetery this past summer with a couple of friends. Nothing unusual but the place was very peaceful. Even if there is no haunting still an excellent spot to explore and learn about New Hampshire's history!

David,

This is great information, thanks! When the weather's warmer, Groton sounds like an ideal location for research.

Cheerfully,
Fiona

Just a note of interest, there is a cemetery in Groton, Massachusetts (bordering Nashua and Hollis NH) that is officially known as Blood Cemetery. This is a small graveyard with many of the Blood family buried within, and there are examples of the headstones with the finger pointing skyward much like that of Abel Blood in Pine Hill. This cemetery is about 2 miles from Gilson Rd. cemetery as the crow flies, and close enough to Hollis to make a visit of all 3 in a day. I haven't done any investigating here yet, but hope to do so. In addition to the "pointing finger" stones, this site also has raised earth tombs as well.

No kidding? Yeah my grandfather is from County Kerry in Ireland but we dont know any of his family from over there. We could be! Haha funny coincidence.

I was wondering if you have ever visited Dudley Road in Billerica Mass. And if you have, if you've posted any information on it. I went up there the other night and once we got out of the car we heard tremendously loud screaming from a group of 5+ women I'd say. We then shined my flashlight into a room of this "abandonned nunery" where the room was pitch black at first but when i moved the flashlight away from the room, somehow the flash of my light remained in the room. Freaky!

Thanks again. Great website by the way!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the update!

That back left corner fits the profile of haunted cemeteries in my book, Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries.

The electrical issues at that cemetery are simply weird. My own experiences and others'... well, it's a long list. Basically, don't count on anything electrical to work there, and -- if your car won't start -- remember that you're at the top of a hill, and gravity will help you get away from the cemetery's influences. (Just be very, very careful if you have to do that. It's better to call AAA or your roadside assistance service.)

There is a house some distance in back of the cemetery, and the people there maintain the farmland around the cemetery.

Thanks again for the update, and... well, you know that my ancestry includes Moloneys, too... right? We're probably related.

Cheerfully,
Fiona
