Ghost hunting may peak at Halloween, but many paranormal enthusiasts continue their research all year ’round, including December. So, it’s no surprise that haunted locations remind visitors that they’re still open for business during the holiday season. (Around the holidays, I’d focus on former asylums and factories. I’ll explain that latter priority in an upcoming article.)

Bells and carols may come to mind when thinking of the holiday spirit, but the word “spirit” has a different meaning in Weston. The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum will still hold tours through the winter, even though its busiest season has passed.

On the hunt for Philly’s lonely ghosts – Newsworks.org
When my Aunt Reet was staying at an inn in Gettysburg, she woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of someone trying to get into her room. At the holiday season, family gatherings are a great time to share ghost stories. Ask your older relatives if they know of any “ghost stories.” Though they may not take those stories seriously, it’s important to learn the stories before those tales are lost. Although not directly related to any factories or asylums, HPIR’s Haunted and Historic Guyandotte Tours of Huntington, WV has decided to offer its first ever holiday ghost tour! We’re bringing back the tradition of telling ghost stories at Christmas with our Victorian Christmas Tours of the Civil-War era properties of Guyandotte. Tours, as always are free, but we’re using this opportunity to give back to the community and are asking for a donation of either $1 or 2 non-perishable food items for local charities. This is also a one-day only tour, being held December 15th.
We’re really looking forward to bringing this “ancient” tradition to our tour guests and helping the commmunity at the same time.
