Thanks for posting that comment. I’ve been trying to locate and update every page that mentioned the free by-mail course. Your comment helped me identify what I hope is the final page that needed an update.

Hi, Fiona. I have been reading your site and I must say that I have found a plethora of information. All of it very useful. I have a quick question. When I try to sign up as a student I type in my email address and then hit submit and, then I get a screen with an error message. I’m not sure what to do about that, the message says to tell the site owner (which I assume is you). If there is anyway you can help me to “enroll” through the website, I would much appreciate it. I realize that I can also read the information with out becoming a student, however, I really would like my certificate. I know it sounds silly, but I will feel happy to have it after spending the time over the 4 week course. I am so interested in paranormal investigation and ghost hunting and don’t know where to start. I think this will be a good start. Hi Teenie,

I think there are spirits that freely visit a variety of locations that interest them. I mean, it makes sense to me that someone who’s crossed over is able to return to check up on friends, family, and favorite places he/she visited in life.

I think others are ghosts who are “stuck” in one location, but they aren’t actually held there by an external force, only by their own ideas & fears.

Those are just my opinions, of course. Until we have far more information that we can confirm with the spirits, we’re relying on educated guesses.

Can ghosts get bored with their surroundings? I wonder if that may be the reason why sometimes we can not detect any activity where we should. I don’t think they are stuck at a certain building or property. I think they move from one location to another. Maybe that’s why one ghost has been reported seen in several places. I may be wrong though.

Hi Teenie,

I’m not an expert in fragrances, but I know that in the early 19th century (1800s) violet perfume was sometimes associated with women of, um, lesser morals. So, that fragrance may be useful to attract the spirits of 18th and 19th century soldiers, pirates and smugglers. Click here for one option, at Amazon.com. (It’s a great aroma, in my opinion.)

An added bonus if you carry lemon Pledge with you: That spray is rumored to repel spiders. According to anecdotes associated with the movie, Arachnophobia, trainers use lemon Pledge to keep spiders within a certain area. The arachnids don’t like to step on any area that’s been sprayed with lemon Pledge.

Thank you as always.
I’ve talked with Rich and Samantha about it and hopefully an expearment can be done if we can get perfume scents that was worn in certain eras. We are also going to try lemon Pledge furnature wax to see if that may draw something out.
I will let you know what happens once we try this theory in several haunted sites.
