Hi Fiona,

I was recently at a cemetery in Salem, MA and took some photos. When I looked at them later, I saw what I think are orbs but I am not sure. I wondered if you would look at them and let me know what you think. I am a true believer in the paranormal, but have never gotten orbs in photos before and these seem very unique.

Thanks,

Cyndi

Adam,

I'm glad you had an opportunity to visit Thailand and see that ritual. However, due to the volume of people who'd like me to look at their photos -- some days, I receive hundreds of requests -- I'm unable to review any photos at this time.

Sincerely,
Fiona

I just spent 21/2 months in Thailand. Northeast of Udon Thani. On a day when people give food for dead relatives food early in the morning I took a few pictures. I want to send them to you and see what you think. How can I do that?

Patricia,

Orbs aren't necessarily ghosts. In my opinion, they're more likely to be signs of the energy that indicates something paranormal going on... sometimes what we'll describe as a haunting, sometimes not.

However, since you've read the article above, you know that there are many reasons why orbs show up in photos, and those orbs have perfectly normal explanations.

There's no way to "get rid" of an orb. If one is following you, there's also no reason to worry. The orb could represent someone you remember happily, or it could simply mean that you're having humid weather (or extra dry, dusty weather) right now, and it's nothing paranormal.

Study the center of the orb and see if it's different from the outer edges. If it's darker or a different color, it's probably something natural... pollen, for example.

Mostly, orbs are nothing to be worried about. They're usually normal, and even when they're paranormal, they're nothing to be afraid of.

Sincerely,
Fiona

i think that these things are real, i was at a friends camp, and he said there had been ghost experiences so me my cousin and my bestfriend took pictures and there would sometimes be those orbs in the pictures but when we would take it again in the same exact spot they would be gone or moved. Also we were sitting at the table and all the sudden the cieling fan started moving so we took a picture of the fan and there was an orb there.

Gary,

Thanks for your comment. Our photos are never faked, unless we clearly state that they are. (When they are, it's usually for the purpose of illustration, and labeled as such.)

That said, we learn more with every photo and every investigation. This website is over 10 years old, so some of the photos reflect our earlier levels (or lack of) experience.

I think there are a variety of explanations for orbs, and they're not just (or not all) ghosts. The more we can study them, the better.

Cheerfully,
Fiona Broome

Nice Website although I am very skeptical as to the authenticity of the photo's.
I have personally witnessed a collection of colored orbs, what they were I do not know but there were five of them hovering behind an old building.
Keep posting the pics though, very interesting subject!
