Gilson Cemetery - June 2008

Jun 19th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Nashua and vicinity

On June 12, 2008, we returned to Gilson Road Cemetery in Nashua, NH. Except for a notable number of new houses and subdivisions in the area, little has changed… with one exception. The denser wooded area in back of the cemetery seems to provide the illusion of cover for the spirits who visit [...]

Gilson Cemetery update

Jun 13th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Nashua and vicinity

Late yesterday (12 June 2008), we returned to Gilson Road Cemetery in Nashua, NH. Our ghost hunting results were surprising. We’ll publish photos and more details, later, but here’s a summary of what we found:
We tried several kinds of dowsing rods to see what they indicated. The “hot spots” were somewhat predictable. [...]

Skeptics and believers

Jun 13th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Fiona's notes, Speculation and science

We can always tell when we’ve hit a nerve with one of our articles. There’s a dramatic spike in unfounded rants from skeptics. We’ve shaken their complacency.
That tells us to continue our research in that area. The more controversy, the fewer established facts or answers. There may be something useful for [...]

Do exorcisms work?

Jun 10th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Ghost hunters guide

Do exorcisms work? Many people wonder about exorcisms when they’re dealing with paranormal and dark forces.
The answer is yes… and no.
I never thought much about exorcisms until I met demonologist John Zaffis. I’m simply not interested in the subject of demons.
However, after a short, informal conversation with Mr. Zaffis, I was a [...]

Our new NH office

Jun 4th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Fiona's notes

After touring the New England coast (and doing research) during May, our summer ‘home base’ is near downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
We’ll be here during June and July 2008, focusing on ghosts of Portsmouth, Rye, Hampton and Dover in NH, as well as spirits around Kittery, Eliot and the Berwicks in Maine.
We hope to resume weekly [...]

Ghosts in Texas: What people say about the Governor’s Mansion photo

May 22nd, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Austin, Real ghost photos

Ghosts are seen and heard at the Texas Governor’s Mansion. That’s not news.
However, our deliberately blurred photo of the Mansion reveals some very interesting, possibly paranormal images. [Link: Austin - Texas Governor's Mansion photo.]
Many people sent us helpful comments. For example, several observant readers mentioned the ghostly apparition of the man at the tree.
The [...]

Bailey Cemetery, Portland, Maine

May 8th, 2008 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Maine

Bailey Cemetery in Portland, Maine has all the ingredients of a good, haunted cemetery. It has Colonial history, unmarked graves, and some neglected plots.
The location is great for Portland ghost enthusiasts who prefer sites that can be reached on foot or via Metro. (That’s local public transportation.)
Unfortunately, the cemetery’s location also makes it less [...]
