Tenney ghosts – Gorrill brothers

Oct 14th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Massachusetts

Two ghosts on the Charles H. Tenney property (Tenney Gate House and Greycourt Castle) may be the Gorrill brothers, or their residual energy.
In my opinion, this part of the site’s history has been badly overlooked.  The legends give ghost hunters some very good reasons to more thoroughly investigate the Greycourt Castle area.
Here’s the short version [...]

Fiona’s Schedule

Oct 12th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Featured articles

Look for Fiona Broome (the founder of HollowHill.com, and our lead investigator) at the following events.

During this time, she’ll be making very few personal and [...]

Did ‘Fiona’ call you?

Oct 8th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Misc / Archives

UPDATE: All but one of the calls have been sorted out. Generally, they were related to my upcoming appearances at Tenney Gate House and other events.  People were calling about me, and the voicemail was confusing.
I tend to be very protective of my friends and fans, so I’m relieved that no one is playing a [...]

Finding and Joining Ghost Research Groups

Aug 31st, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Ghost hunters guide

Many people have asked me about finding and joining a local ghost hunting group.
THE BASICS
First, be sure to read my article, Before You Join a Ghost Hunting Group and my discussion about Local Ghost Hunting Groups (scroll down the page for that section).

About my Dragon*Con 2009 bio

Aug 29th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Misc / Archives

Several friends have contacted me about my Dragon*Con 2009 biography.
I’m aware of the problem, and appreciate their concerns.  I no longer work with Gavin Cromwell on any projects, and I haven’t worked with him for several months.  He and I haven’t spoken since May 2009.
My Dragon*Con bio was written almost a year ago, before I [...]

Northfield and Tilton, NH… in the rain

Aug 29th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: New Hampshire

In Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries, I mention one eerie cemetery in Northfield-Tilton, New Hampshire.  (The boundaries between Northfield and Tilton aren’t always clear.  I think this cemetery is in Northfield, but I could be wrong.)
Several graves in that cemetery indicate good activity.
Last night, we took photos of rain orbs for my upcoming book, Ghost [...]

Recently, we polled our readers. In June, we asked how much people (and teams) charge for private investigations. In July, we asked how much people (and teams) should charge for private investigations.
The following are the results:
The results show that most readers believe that people should do this work for free, or just [...]

Looking back – Ed and Lorraine Warren

Jul 5th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Professional ghost hunting

Recently, several people have asked my opinion of Ed and Lorraine Warren.  Here’s my reply.
Ed and Lorraine Warren have been — together and as individuals — vital to the development and popularity of this field.  Without their work, I don’t think there would be a “Ghost Hunters” TV show, etc.
I can say the same about [...]

How much do you charge?

Jul 5th, 2009 | By Fiona Broome | Category: Ghosts in your home

During June 2009, we conducted a poll of our readers to see how much they charge when they investigate a private residence.
These were the results:
Among those who’ve talked with me about how much they charge, most echo the poll results.  They don’t charge the client anything at all, or — if travel expenses are involved [...]
