Dan, during recent investigations, we've found considerable energy near the tree you describe, and also at an odd gravestone near it. Listen to my closing comments on my October 9 (2009) podcast.

Erin,

Thanks for the comments. I was at that cemetery last weekend, and pleased to see how well it's been maintained and improved since I wrote about it in "Weird Hauntings."

Desperate spirits are almost always troublesome. I hope that Mr. Hargrove finds the answers he seeks -- and sense of what's next -- and moves on, soon. Then again, he may be acting-out to get attention. Some spirits do.

Thanks again for your comments!

Cheerfully,
Fiona

Hello there!
I am one of those "locals" you mentioned, however I can assure you I do not believe it's nonsense. What we experienced that night would not be desired by the novice hunter. In fact I would URGE that this would NOT be your first ghost hunting experience.
If you come across the waving woman, cool, take your pictures, and get out of there. Don't be confused, she is completely harmless. If you are unfortunate enough to come across Mr. Hargrove, though, you may have some unwanted experiences. All I can say is watch your back. He is desperate for help.
Happy Hunting!

Dan, thanks for letting me know about your visit and your results! Let me know what happens on future visits. It's a great cemetery, and I'm delighted that you're investigating it.

A policeman stopped to ask us what we were doing, it was 9:30pm, well after dark. We showed them the camera, told him we were hoping to photograph some ghosts, and he talked with us for a little bit then let us return to our outing. He had no problem with us being there after dark. Very nice fellow.

I went to Old Center Cemetery last night with my friend and my brother, on our first ghost outing. Didnt see either of the major specters depicted here, but our camera did pick up a few possible orbs. Most of the activity seemed to be near a large tree in the (facing from the road) back-left side of the cemetery.
We also got a picture of a flash of light that we couldnt explain and couldnt replicate no matter how we tried. Very fun stuff, made me eager for more!
