13 Days of Halloween – 2012
“On the first day of Halloween, my true love gave to me…”
Okay. I’m being silly. October is such a fun month, I can get a little giddy.
Anyway…
Starting Friday, October 19th, I’m celebrating 13 Days of Halloween, with treats. The inspiration came from my very good friend (and sometimes debating buddy), researcher Robin Lynn Pyatt Bellamy. She’s been sharing her own 31 days of Halloween. (Obviously, Robin was better prepared for this month than I was. I’m very impressed!)
Every one of those 13 days, I’ll have a fresh, new treat for you.
Most of them will be little treats, with just a few bigger surprises.
Everything will be free… on that day, anyway, so don’t miss a single day. (I’ll post links at Facebook and at Twitter, to remind you. Or, you can subscribe to all of my site updates, in the form on the right side of this page.)
Here’s what I said when I launched this Halloween freebies idea:
Here’s what else you need to know:
When a Kindle book is free, download it immediately. The Kindle books will be free for one day only. The day before and the next day (and every day after that), that book will probably be sold at its usual price. (That’s important, because the book may be available one or two days before the free day. Wait for the free day, unless you absolutely, positively must have the book immediately.)
Note: Now and then, Amazon.com may change the price of my Kindle books. Except for the day (or days) that I say a book must be free, the pricing isn’t fully under my control.
However, some other treats are available one day only, too, so don’t miss a single day. When they’re gone… they’re gone.
On most days, I’ll feature a mini-podcast. That’s a brief chat, about five minutes long, about some aspect of ghost hunting or paranormal research.
Sometimes, I’ll include worksheets or reports. I may make a few videos before the month is over, as well.
I’ll update this page with the links, as they’re available. And, due to Kindle availability issues outside my control, I may shuffle the predicted products, so there’s a fresh treat every day.
These are the freebies…
Friday, 19 Oct – Baseline Yourself for Ghost Hunting – Mini-podcast – Instruction sheets (PDF).
Saturday, 20 Oct - Ghost Hunting – Keeping Tragedy in Context – Mini-podcast – Report (PDF).
Sunday, 21 Oct – Sundays, Rapport, and Unintended Provoking – Mini-podcast – Report (PDF). (You can still listen to the podcast and read the summary, but the PDF was a one-day-only offer.)
Monday, 22 Oct – Evaluating Famous Haunts for Great Ghost Hunting Results – Mini-podcast – Report – Sample Worksheet (PDF).
Tuesday, 23 Oct – Ghosts: What They Are and What They Aren’t - Mini-p0dcast – Free Kindle book (free on Oct 23rd only).
Wednesday, 24 Oct – Ghost Hunting Events – Getting the Most from Them – Mini-podcast – Report – Worksheet (PDF).
Thursday, 25 Oct – Haunted Cemeteries: What to do before your investigation – Podcast – Report – Worksheet (PDF).
Friday, 26 Oct – Ley Lines for Ghost Hunters – An Introduction – Free Kindle book (free on Friday, Oct 26th, only).
Saturday, 27 Oct – Ley Lines for Ghost Hunters – MindMap – Printable mindmap (JPG).
Sunday, 28 Oct – Preparing for Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries – MindMap – Printable mindmap (JPG).
Pre-loaded before Hurricane Sandy’s arrival, and auto-scheduled to appear, day by day:
Monday, 29 Oct – Everyday Ghost Hunting – Report (PDF) and printable mindmap (JPG).
Tuesday, 30 Oct – Halloween Ghost Hunting Checklist (PDF)
Wednesday, 31 Oct – Walpurgis, the Other Halloween – Report (PDF).
I’ve had fun with this. Sure, it’s been a lot of work, but it’s the kind of work I enjoy.
And, there will be more books (each free for a day) in the coming weeks. The hurricane affected my original plans, so a few scheduled books weren’t completed in time. However, I’m pleased that I could create at least one daily treat for all 13 days.
Happy Halloween! Happy Samhain!
Thank you to everyone who downloaded the free books, shared the link with friends, “liked” the book at Amazon, or left a positive review. With your help, Ghosts – What They Are and What They Aren’t became a #1 best-seller after two days (regular price) plus the free day. My Ley Lines for Ghost Hunters book also became an instant best-seller.
Several other books are near completion and will be released in November and beyond.
Here are some screenshots showing Ley Lines for Ghost Hunters – An Introduction soaring to the top of the charts:

Hi, Fiona…I’m back again. for how long I don’t know, as usual. feels like old home week getting back to your website. and being able to hear your podcasts. I am now into Chakra Healing and loving it. also getting some closet psychics out into the open. they’re happier, too. my question is…do you have any recommendation for books on ley lines? I’m very much interested. thanks. my clairvoyancy has expanded to telepathy and going great guns. Better then trying to find someone to take care of something for me. went on a ghost hunt and ended up doing the talking. told the guy running it to go to your site and get up to date. oh well, he went out of business. a compliment to you. so many ghost hunting sites gone in so short a time. guess everyone is watching the ghost shows instead. or the spirits are sick and tired of us saying boo to you too. keep up the good work. I refer everyone to your site. naturally….
Hi, Susan!
It’s good to see you here, again! Congratulations on getting into Chakra Healing. I think it’s a very good match for your skills and intuition. In fact, I’m working my way through an Anodea Judith book. Fascinating, and something I’m considering in relation to ghost hunting.
Anyway, when I complete the “Ley Lines for Ghost Hunters – An Introduction” — which is nearly completed, just ran into a Kindle formatting snag that I’m overcoming — I’ll have a list in that book and here, too, when I post an article about it. The most experienced ley line research in the field is probably Paul Devereux. Though I’m not sure that I agree with him on all points, reading any of his work will give you some good background. From there, I’d go the other extreme into the groundbreaking (no pun intended) work of people like David Cowan.
But, as I said, I’ll have a list as soon as I finish the book.
Thanks for the referrals, as well. Sometimes, people really don’t have an opportunity to find Hollow Hill, partly because I launched it so early in Internet years, I didn’t choose a domain name with “ghost” in it. So, despite the size and age of this site, it doesn’t always get mentioned in a context where people will realize its content. (But, hey, TheShadowlands.net did only slightly better with their domain name, so I’m not alone with a huge site and a somewhat eclectic name! *grin*)
As I said, it’s good to see you here, and I wish you wonderful opportunities to share your gifts with others, and find smiles each night as you know you’ve done wonderful things, each day!
Cheerfully,
Fiona
